As one of Nebraska's biggest cities, Omaha has its share of urban sprawl, but spend a little time in town and find museums, pleasant parks, plenty of places to tuck into for an Omaha steak and somewhat unexpectedly, an indoor rainforest.
Named for bathtub-like formations worn in the rock of Rucker streambed adjacent to the area, this campground is located on a forested bench overlooking the old Rucker Lake bed, which silted in after the Rattlesnake Fire in 1992.
Camping areas here are shaded by a stand of Apache and Chihuahua pines. Yuccas remind you that the desert is not far away. All sites are walk-in only, so you’ll have to walk to your table and fire grill.
