Bird Track Springs Interpretive Trail loops its way through a level floodplain of the Grande Ronde River. This area is known for excellent bird watching and guides are available from the campground HOST. It is also a wonderful nature trail, following the river through meadows and pine, willow, and cottonwood forests. Beaver and deer are common in this area. Bird watching, poetry, and history guides are available to enhance your trail experience. Bird Track Springs Interpretive trail is located beside the Bird Track Springs Campground. This 1.5 mile long, gravel surfaced trail is easy to walk for people of all ages. The Oregon Trail Interpretive Park, Winom-Frazier OHV Trail Complex, and the city of La Grande can be enjoyed within easy driving distance.
