As one of Nebraska's biggest cities, Omaha has its share of urban sprawl, but spend a little time in town and find museums, pleasant parks, plenty of places to tuck into for an Omaha steak and somewhat unexpectedly, an indoor rainforest.
Cactus Park trail accesses Big Dominguez Creek with beautiful panoramic views. Opportunities for solitude and wildlife viewing. At 2.5 miles Cactus Park Trail meets up with Big Dominguez Creek Trail, from this point, heading east, it is another 3.5 miles to the Gunnison River or 6 miles going west to Big Dominguez Campground.
About a mile or so upstream from the confluence of Big and Little Dominguez Creeks you will find a magnificent waterfall and several large boulders with petroglyphs.
