As one of Nebraska's biggest cities, Omaha has its share of urban sprawl, but spend a little time in town and find museums, pleasant parks, plenty of places to tuck into for an Omaha steak and somewhat unexpectedly, an indoor rainforest.
Located high on the slopes of the Schell Creek Range in the middle of an Alder, Pinyon and Juniper forest East Creek offers a wide range of recreation opportunities to the forest visitor. East Creek, a perennial stream, runs directly through the picnic area and many birds make it their home during the spring and summer seasons.
