Description
If you were a pioneer bound west in the 19th-century, your trail officially ended in what is now known as The Dalles, at the very banks of the Columbia River. You can get a glimpse of life here as it was long ago at the Fort Dalles Museum, a small facility housed in an intriguing historic carpenter-gothic house on the original fort site. Peruse native american artifacts, old black and white photographs and a variety of antiques before you set off to appease your inner explorer further up the gorge.
