As one of Nebraska's biggest cities, Omaha has its share of urban sprawl, but spend a little time in town and find museums, pleasant parks, plenty of places to tuck into for an Omaha steak and somewhat unexpectedly, an indoor rainforest.
A 6.0-mile paved loop leads through the largest concentration of petrified wood in the Park. The logs here lie criss-crossed atop of each other.
Most of the logs are the petrified remains of extinct conifers. At the north end of the loop are some of the Park's longest intact logs, one of which measures 116 feet.

The first half-mile of this trail is paved and suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. Stairs up to the shade shelter can be avoided by using the Agate House trail to access the hilltop.
