As one of Nebraska's biggest cities, Omaha has its share of urban sprawl, but spend a little time in town and find museums, pleasant parks, plenty of places to tuck into for an Omaha steak and somewhat unexpectedly, an indoor rainforest.
The Natural Bridges Loop Trail descends the Sipapu Bridge Trail to the Sipapu Bridge. The trail runs along the bottom of the canyon to the Kachina Brdge and the Owachomo Bridge. It returns to the top of the mesa via the Owachomo Bridge Trail...The round-trip distance of 8.2 miles includes a 2-1/2 mile trail through woodland along the top of the canyon back to the Sipapu Bridge trailhead. (It can be eliminated by using a car shuttle.) Many hikers omit the Owachomo Bridge segment and climb up the Kachina Bridge Trail. This shortens the loop to 5.4 miles, which includes a 2 mile hike on the mesa top.
