As one of Nebraska's biggest cities, Omaha has its share of urban sprawl, but spend a little time in town and find museums, pleasant parks, plenty of places to tuck into for an Omaha steak and somewhat unexpectedly, an indoor rainforest.
The 2,240 acre North Fork of the Kaweah River BLM area is located adjacent to Sequoia National Park, just north of the town of Three Rivers. The majority of the area is accessed by the public at three high-use sites: Paradise, Advance site, and Cherry Falls site. These areas are popular for swimming and tubing, sunbathing, picnicking, dispersed camping, fishing and viewing the scenery. Unfortunately they are also associated with partying and drinking from local users. The water quality, especially during low water flows, is questionable.
