As one of Nebraska's biggest cities, Omaha has its share of urban sprawl, but spend a little time in town and find museums, pleasant parks, plenty of places to tuck into for an Omaha steak and somewhat unexpectedly, an indoor rainforest.
The Syracuse Sand Dunes Park is the largest sand dunes park in Kansas and one of the largest in the Midwest. Opened in 2007, the Sand Park offers 1,300 acres of amazing dunes, rolling hills, bowls and some fast flat areas that will appeal to the sand drag enthusiasts. Sand trails have been expanded through the park. RV parking, dry camping and restrooms facilities with showers are available on site. The park also includes a 40 acre kid-friendly fishing pond that has been stocked. Check out the website to access some great footage of the Dunes.
