Description

Tally Lake is beautiful to behold. It resembles a Scandinavian fjord with its towering cliffs and rugged country around 3 sides of the lake. At nearly 500 feet deep, it is the deepest lake in Montana. Most of the lake is deep, cold and rather unproductive for fishing. There are some very large lake trout hanging out in Tally Lake, but they are notoriously difficult to find. On the north side of the lake, Logan Creek enters and exits the lake. Here the terrain is gentle and offers some pike and trout fishing.
